ALMERE

Pavillion on city square

In the middle of the Belfort square in the new city center of Almere, between the shopping center of De Portzamparc and the housing of S333 architects, this pavilion was planned. The area of the square is quite small in relation to the surface area of the pavilion. We have therefore opted for a mushroom-like structure that gives the impression that the roof through is carried by the thick trunk in the middle, and creates an image of a transparent and open pavilion.
